Peach, Sketch Artist From Bangkok Helps Rescue Group In Malaysia

The History of Peach and Sherrina from Independent Pet Rescuers, Malaysia.

Meet Peach. I have never met an artist like Peach. He paints, draws, and sketches because he just loves it. When I first met Peach it was perhaps 4 or 5 years ago when my friend Say Ming bumped into me in Bangkok when I was on a work trip. So as my tour guide he took me around and we ended up in Chatuchak Market. It was an amazing place! He took me to meet Peach - hi

s artist friend with a shop in the market. There was something about Peach that I loved instantly. Perhaps, it was his love for cats (he had about 4 in in his shop then - all rescued from the streets) or the fact that he just loves sketching cats! Either way, Peach I knew was going to be my friend for life. Catherine and I have no other artist collection in our homes and offices but of Peach. All his paintings are unique - not mass-produced - made from the heart - exclusively for you. Their worth is 'love'. And that is immeasurable! And it’s ironic that the name of his humble shop in a Bangkok market is called 'Love Never Dies'.

Malaysians and specifically KLites will have a great opportunity to meet Peach this weekend @ Central Market.

So Peach wants to help us raise funds for some cats we want to neuter. For every painting sold - he has pledged to give us Independent Pet Rescuers Malaysia - Sherrina's Rescue Group RM 3.00 ringgit.

Bring a picture of your cat, dog that you would like Peach to sketch.

He sketches and draws on anything - t-shirts, caps, and hats.

Please come and support us.

Doppelganger Indie Picks: Y2K (MALAYSIA) meets Superman is Dead (INDONESIA)

Here we go again with Doppelganger Indie Picks. Each time, we select one local and one foreign artiste to share with you. This edition, we are shaking with excitement as we reintroduce two punk acts, both of whom have been around for quite some time. Whilst our Balinese counterpart, Superman is Dead enjoys a fan base of over 5million on Facebook, the other closer to home (we're speaking of Ampang in Kuala Lumpur) has an insignificant amount of but in our opinion, have the promise of being a really really really (as my Italian friend Valentina says) a smashing big band! So the long and short is, the Malaysian band Y2K has been established since the early 2000s and is about to release it's second album. How many albums did Sex Pistols release? Perhaps this article (Sex Pistols' Steve Jones interview: 'We should do a covers album') could be an inspiration to them to reinvent, repackage and just bloody get their band out there more and more and more :P Can...
