Celebrating 10 Years of Open Mic glory! 
An appreciation night for media and musicians who have graced our stage over the past decade! So we're declaring 15 July OPEN MIC DAY!

Valhalla Open Mic was started off by two friends - DJ Beryl and Jasmine Low at a club called Liquid Bar in Central Market in 2002. Every Thursday night, musicians, dancers, singers even drag queens would grace the platform to showcase their talents. From 2005 onwards, DJ Beryl became quite busy with her advertising job so Jaz continued the open mic nights, under the moniker - Doppelganger Open Mic. We invite YOU to be a part of this special day where friends come together.

Celebrating 10 Years of Open Mic glory!

Doppelganger Indie Picks: Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim

In this edition of Doppelganger KL Indie Picks, we are so stoked to share with you an artiste who has entertained Malaysians for over 25 years. She hosts TV shows so effortlessly, and a true natural for screen. She released several music singles in between acting in films and television, presenting shows online and for broadcast, radio deejaying and appearing as a talent in commercials. Doppelganger Indie Picks: Y2K (MALAYSIA) meets Superman is Dead (INDONESIA)

Here we go again with Doppelganger Indie Picks. Each time, we select one local and one foreign artiste to share with you. This edition, we are shaking with excitement as we reintroduce two punk acts, both of whom have been around for quite some time. Whilst our Balinese counterpart, Superman is Dead enjoys a fan base of over 5million on Facebook, the other closer to home (we're speaking of Ampang in Kuala Lumpur) has an insignificant amount of but in our opinion, have the promise of being a really really really (as my Italian friend Valentina says) a smashing big band! So the long and short is, the Malaysian band Y2K has been established since the early 2000s and is about to release it's second album. How many albums did Sex Pistols release? Perhaps this article (Sex Pistols' Steve Jones interview: 'We should do a covers album') could be an inspiration to them to reinvent, repackage and just bloody get their band out there more and more and more :P Can...
