Starting Dec. 3rd KENNY PEAVY, Benchmarx band vocalist/guitarist will be organizing a monthly Open Mic at Doppel Kafe @ Pasar Seni (Sentral Market).. as a platform for musicians and artists to escape the confines of their living rooms and play in public!

Message from Kenny:

Doppel Kafe is a mellow cafe atmosphere with food, drinks and beer on the menu- you will feel like you are playing in your own home!

The Open Mic will go from 3 pm - 7 pm... with an early start and finish to accommodate an early crowd!

It is meant to be inclusive.. so please forward to others you know that might be interested in performing.

This is part of the Doppelganger efforts to support a local indie arts and music scene in KL and Malaysia!

We will be looking for folks to perform spoken word/poetry, perform songs, instrumentals etc. etc..

You can perform solo.. as part of a group or as a band... and perform 1 song/poem or as many as time allows!

Beginners are definitely welcome and encouraged!

I anticipate an open format with sign ups occurring at the event... and with chances to perform and hopefully share songs, techniques, tips and tricks for performing.

A flyer with directions and details will be coming later.. but I wanted to send this out now so you can start to practice and rehearse!

Here we go again with Doppelganger Indie Picks. Each time, we select one local and one foreign artiste to share with you. This edition, we are shaking with excitement as we reintroduce two punk acts, both of whom have been around for quite some time.
