About Ro' Halfhide

The Dutch/Surinamese Ro Halfhide is a singer-songwriter and producer from Amsterdam who sings in the tradition of singers like Paul Simon, Ben Harper and crooners like Gene Kelley. He has played at Eurosonic Noorderslag Festival in 2008 and in the beginning of 2009 he played together with rappers Typhoon and Blaxtar.

Halfhide is above all well known as a producer and organizer and co-founder of the Amsterdam Songwriters Guild (ASG).
Doing this, he played a huge part in the present success of the singer-songwriter within the Dutch club and festival circuit.
Halfhide is the main producer of Lucky Fonz III, also for the hit single 'Ik Heb Een Meisje'. He also produces the records of
Case Mayfield. He cooperated on Claw Boys Claw‟s „Pajama Day‟ (2008).

Ro Halfhide‟s debut album will be due in March of 2011. This album will - in Halfhide‟s own words - “contain songs that were
dragged out of my soul, and through my dreams hit the surface”.

About THE ZIPPER
The Zipper, consists of vocalist Chris Chalmers, guitarist Daniel Pew (known as Pew), bassist Daniel Hernandez (known as Herny), and drummer/frontman Takaki Nakamura, all students at The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL). The band was co-founded in late 2010 by Pew and Takaki.

The band comprises of a number of very highly accomplished musicians:
Chris recently was chosen to represent at the Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS) Jazz Festival in The Netherlands, the sole student selected to represent from ISKL. He also was chosen to represent ISKL's vocal singers at the annual Cultural Convention (CC) of Music of The Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asian Schools (IASAS). Chris is also proficient on the guitar and piano, filling in as rhythm guitarist or keyboardist when necessary for The Zipper, as well as percussion.

Pew is a candidate of Higher Level studies of music for the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. He recently received the IB Music Passion award for his profound passion and interest towards music. Pew is also a very skilled musical technician, working as the technician for ISKL's Singers group. He fills in backing vocals for the band. He is planning to further pursue his musical studies in the future at the International College of Music (ICOM).

Takaki, similarly to Chris, also was chosen to represent ISKL at IASAS, as a percussion delegate. He was chosen two years in a row. In 2010, he received an Award of Excellence from Trinity College of London for his outstanding performance on the Rockschool Grade 8 drums exam, scoring 93 of 100 possible marks, the highest mark of ANY grade 8 Rockschool exam taken in the region. He was also voted executive treasurer of the school's Modern Music Masters (Tri-M) club, an honors music society. Along with Pew, he also fills in backing vocals. He is considering pursuing music at ICOM as well.
The Zipper perform in various forms, both as full band and as acoustic. In our acoustic formations, drummer Takaki typically plays the cajon.
After having played at various locations from Alexis Bistro in Bangsar Telawi to Laila's Cafe in Kelana Jaya, The Zipper are ready to take their performing to new venues and opportunities, all in the pursuit of our musical passions.
DoppelgangerKL welcomes The Zipper!
