Artistes Introduction

AIQA

Malaysian-born and UK-bred Aiqa was born in Kuala Lumpur and later migrated to the UK with her parents at the age of 7. As an only child, music entertained her and stimulated her creativity. She learned to play the keyboard at 5, taught herself how to play the guitar at 14 and was actively composing songs by the age of 15, where she had begun studying musical history and progression in GCSE Music.

While life took her to a different path where she completed her studies at The University of Nottingham with a major in Psychology, music was always embedded in her free time. She took the opportunity to carry on making music, composing lyrics, and using music softwares to make her songs come alive on audio.

Having resided in London for over 14 years, her family decided to settle back home that is K.L where she is currently working in Media.

As for her music, what used to be a hobby, is slowly becoming an aspiration. http://amp.channelv.com/aiqa

This will be AIQA's first time performing with Doppelganger Open Mic Gigs. We look forward to her.

HANDLE WITH CARE (KL)

Handle With Care is an independent pop punk band based in Petaling Jaya. The band consists of Faisal Yusof on vocals and bass, Andy Seah and John Paul Pacaldo on guitars, and Abdul Musowir a.k.a. Moose on drums. Bonding over a common interest in music, Faisal, Andy, John and Chee Ben Jin (former drummer) built a strong friendship and soon enough, Handle With Care was born in late 2008. The band was later joined by bassist David Woong in 2009. In August 2009, Ben left the band to further his studies overseas. He was then replaced by Moose in October 2009. In January 2010, David left the band due to personal reasons. With his departure, Handle With Care is now a four-piece band with Faisal taking over the role of bassist. A far cry from their beginning of playing covers, the band took a step forward by writing their own songs after being together for a few months. Handle With Care have released three singles and played numerous gigs. Their latest single, “Apa Warnamu”, has been creating a buzz and getting airplay on Hot FM as well as Fly FM. The song has also landed on online music charts, reaching a high of no.7 on Channel [V] AMP Chart (no.6 in Malaysia), no.1 on cravecharts.com and no.1 jomgig.com Top 50. Handle With Care is now on a roll to make a name in the local music scene.
