Having played in public only in July this year, Jasemaine's genteel demeanour is as engaging as her songwriting skills. Jasmine Low, co-organiser of Valhalla open mic nights (2002-2004), has teamed up with Troubadours’ organisers Azmyl Yunor, Tan Sei Hon and Jerome Kugan to hold two different fortnightly Sunday performance nights at the upstairs room of La Bodega’s KL outlet on Tengkat Tong Shin in Bukit Bintang. While Troubadours will continue to focus on singer songwriters performing mostly instrospective original material, the new night Doppelganger will act as a showcase for a more eclectic range of performers, including cabaret acts, poets, dancers, performance artists and other uncategorisable emerging talents looking for an outlet. To celebrate this new partnership, a special kick-off Doppelganger/Troubadours event will be held on June 5, 7pm onwards. Confirmed to appear at this event are talented singer songwriters Leow Mei Chern and Reza Salehudin, SaerZe and Prozac Nation.
